City Easter celebration set for April 13

(File photo) The Easter Bunny helped the younger children find Easter eggs on the lawns outside of City Hall during last year's City Easter Celebration.

The lawn at City Hall was full of eager boys and girls who lined up to hunt Easter eggs as the Tallassee Recreation Center hosted the annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday afternoon. According to the director of the recreation center, Rick Golden, there were about 150 people in attendance, which he says is an increase from the previous year.
“We have had a good turnout today,” Golden said on Saturday. “I think we had a few more people to attend this year.”
The recreation center had a little help from the Tallassee Senior Center. The men and women at the center spent time stuffing eggs with candy and prizes before the hunt.
The recreation center also gave away four Easter baskets to children who found the Golden Eggs.
