LifeSouth will hold area blood drives on May 5, 8 and 10 to boost needed summer stockpiles.

Summer activities lead to an increased need for blood but a decrease in donations.

LifeSouth’s mobile blood bank was at the Tallassee Community Hospital last week and LifeSouth will hold blood drives at the Tallassee National Guard on May 5 from 9 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.; at Reeltown High School May 8 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; and on May 10 at the Wetumpka Walmart on U.S. Highway 231 from 1 to 6 p.m. and the Alexander City Walmart on U.S. Highway 280 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
