The Tallassee Police Department is hoping the public can help locate a Tuskegee man wanted in connection to a Wednesday fatal shooting.

“We are hoping someone knows the location of Robdarius Ronkevious Smith,” Tallassee police chief Todd Buce said. “He is known at ‘Rah Rah.’”

Smith, 31, is known to frequent Auburn Street in Tuskegee.

Central Alabama Crimestoppers said in a release Smith is possibly armed with an AR-15 style firearm, which investigators say was used in Tuesday’s shooting.

“Smith may be armed and is possibly using illegal narcotics,” Crimestoppers said.

Smith is described as a black male, 6’2” ft. in height, weighing approximately 150 lbs.

Wednesday’s shooting occurred on Washington Street just across the Funtasic Fort and the Tallassee Fire Department Station 2.

Fifth Judicial Circuit District Attorney Mike Segrest said on his Facebook page Wednesday night he is aware of the shooting and spoke with law enforcement that was on the scene. He said there is no immediate danger to the public.

“The suspect is still at large but this is believed to be an isolated incident,” Segrest wrote. “There is no immediate threat of danger to the community other than the random acts of violence that we are all subjected to daily.”

Segrest said he had asked for help from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency and the State Bureau of Investigation.

Law enforcement left the scene about 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Assisting the Tallassee Police Department was the Tallapoosa County Sheriff’s Department, the Eclectic Police Department, the Tuskegee Police Department, the Macon County Sheriff’s Department, U.S. Marshals Task Force, Haynes Ambulance and Tallapoosa County Coroner Mike Knox.

If Smith is seen, use extreme caution, do not approach, and immediately notify law enforcement according to Central Alabama CrimeStoppers.

As of Friday morning, authorities have not released the name of the victim.
