Charles Edward Weldon passed away peacefully on March 13, 2019, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his wife Bettye, who never left his side, and family.

Funeral services will be Friday, March 15, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. from Jeffcoat Funeral Home Chapel with Mike McElroy officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, Jeffcoat Funeral Home directing. Charles was born to Harold Chesley Weldon and Mary Ellen Wilson Weldon on November 6, 1934, in Tallassee Alabama. Charles started his career with Lockheed in Marietta, GA, before moving to a career with Eastern Airlines. After retiring, Charles served as a volunteer for the Union Fire Department and was a member of the Auburn Lions Club. Charles is survived by many who loved him, including his wife of 67 years, Bettye Wallace Weldon, his three daughters Debbie (Charles) Wagner, Terri (Scott)Tillman, and Allison Fogerty; brother, Jimmy (Betty) Weldon; sister, Wanda (Andy) Hornsby and six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Gene Weldon. The family will receive friends Friday, March 15, from 1:00 p.m. until service time at Jeffcoat Funeral Home, Tallassee, Alabama. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 3054 McGhee Rd. Montgomery, AL 36111.
