Mrs. Amy Hendrix Allen, a resident of Montgomery, Alabama, passed away Saturday, June 15, 2019 at the age of 63, after a courageous battle with cancer. Memorial services will be held Monday, June 17, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. at Jeffcoat Funeral Home Chapel. She is survived by her daughters, Jamie Bazzell Butler (Justin), Dana Bazzell Walters (Doug) and Allison Theresa Bazzell; grandchildren, Jordan Walters, Bethany Walters, Anna Garnett, Aidan Butler, Kaleb Gillespie, Bailey Butler, Britney Butler and Blaire Butler; sister, Iris Hendrix Jordan (Fred) ; brother, George Daniel “Danny” Hendrix, Jr. (Michelle) and extended family members in Florida. Amy is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. James R. Allen and her parents, George Daniel Hendrix, Sr. and Muriel Pearson Hendrix. Amy grew up in Riverside Heights Community, in Tallassee, Alabama and attended Tallassee High School. She continued her education at Auburn University Montgomery and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. She had a true love and passion for the Emergency Department and her role as Director of Nursing at Tallassee Healthcare. She was a driven leader that demanded quality and professionalism. Amy was a vibrant, intelligent, independent woman who brightened the lives of those she touched. She was a loving daughter, mother, nana, sister, neighbor and friend. She loved to entertain others and travel. One of her favorite hobbies was expressing herself and her unique personality through her paintings. She found joy in making us strong by playing pranks on us daily. She was fun-loving, sassy, and full of life. She will always be remembered in the hearts of those who love her. She will be greatly missed by her daughters, family, & friends. The family will receive friends Monday, June 17, 2019 at Jeffcoat Funeral Home from 4:30 p.m. until service time.
