Tallassee was back together to compete as a team over the weekend as the Tigers traveled to Smiths Station for the annual Panther XC Invitational. It was a wet and rainy morning for the athletes but that did not stop the Tigers from having a big day.
Despite being more than a minute behind his personal best, Woodrow Dean was once again leading the pack and took the top spot with a time of 16:20.57. He beat the closest competition by more than 28 seconds.
Caleb Mason was the closest teammate to Dean, finishing 30th overall out of 157 runners with a time of 19:10.69.
Brady Mason finished 60th with a time of 20:32.94 while Grant McCraney was not too far behind, finishing eight seconds behind his teammate to take 63rd overall.
Out of 19 competing schools, the Tigers finished eighth in the team standings with an average running time of 19:37.
