The Elmore County Panthers took their talents on the road as they matched up with the Wetumpka Indians in a hard fought game which ended with a score of 71-53.

Despite falling short, the Panthers displayed an ability to do a lot of things well on Thursday night.

“This is why we play teams like Wetumpka early in the year, because it allows us to measure our team and see where we are,” coach Nathan Taylor said.

Elmore County would compete the entire night, and relied on a couple of different players to stay in the game.

Jaden Eason was the catalyst for the Panthers all night as he finished with 29 points and 8 rebounds.

“Jaden is our guy and we trust him with the ball to make something happen and provide for others,” Taylor said.

Also adding to the offensive attack was Seth McGhee and Gage Davis who each had 7 points on the night complimenting the dynamic guard play from Eason.

Davis serves as the facilitator on offense while also showing his ability to capitalize at the charity stripe.

The relentless effort of the Panthers squad allowed them to contest the Indians for all four periods.

The Panthers are confident in their scheme and will be back in action on Monday.
