The Lake Martin Songwriters Festival officially began Wednesday night at Niffer’s and the Lake Martin Pizza Company in Dadeville. But for sponsors of the event, the festival held a VIP reception at The Mitchell House Tuesday night.
“We have been able to keep this event free since its beginning because of our sponsors,” committee president Steven Pace said of the festival. “(The VIP reception) is just something we do to have a good time with them, to have a little showcase for them, to kick off the festival and show them our appreciation.”
Songwriters Mark Hall, Charlie Argo, Marla Cannon-Goodman, Marty Brown and Mark Addison Chandler performed for the reception.
