Submitted / TPI Madilyn Jinright, left, Annagail West, Judge of Probate Talmadge East, Colton Siggers and Hannah Farrow went through a tour of the Tallapoosa County Courthouse.

The Reeltown FFA officers were recently honored with a private tour of the Tallapoosa County Courthouse offices by the Judge of Probate Talmadge East.

East provided a detailed description of the various county offices to the Future Farmers of America. The FFA officers were also introduced to the county officials by East. The last stop of the tour was the county Records Department in the basement of the courthouse.

East explained the use of the Records Department for recorded land deeds, birth and death certificates, marriage certificates and other documents. The county records date back to 1859 and are available for use by all citizens.

The officers were also introduced to the large bound books of county newspapers that date back to the 1850s. East provided a unique learning experience to the Reeltown FFA officers who were able to attend the tour. The officers include president Hannah Farrow, vice president Madilyn Jinright, secretary Colton Siggers and chaplain Annagail West.
