As small business month marches on, the Tallassee Chamber of Commerce along with the Tallassee Tribune would like to salute some of the longstanding locally owned businesses that frequently give back to the community in which they serve. This week, we take a look at Britt Veterinary Services in East Tallassee.

Britt Veterinary Services is located in East Tallassee at 2762 Notasulga Road. Dr. Rebecca Davidson originally established this primarily small-animal practice as Veterinary Services in the summer of 1980. Drs. Bo and Anne Britt purchased the veterinary clinic in January of 1998.

Dr. Bo Britt initially worked as a technician and kennel employee during his high school days at Tallassee High School. After graduation from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine, he worked as a veterinarian for Dr. Davidson from 1989 to 1991. After marrying Anne, also an AUCVM graduate, they both worked in the Newnan and Peachtree City, Georgia, area until they purchased the veterinary practice. Together they have operated Britt Veterinary Services since then, primarily practicing small-animal medicine and surgery with boarding for dogs and cats as well.

Dr. Bo Britt has previously served as president and board member of both the Tallassee Chamber of Commerce and the Talisi Historical Society as well as helping coach numerous youth sports teams. Bo and Anne are both members of the American Veterinary Medical Association as well the East Alabama Veterinary Medical Association. In 2013, Dr. Ryan Garner, a 2011 graduate of Tuskegee University, joined the practice.

Britt Veterinary Services continues to support the local community through the Chamber of Commerce and various athletic and performance groups. The Britts enjoy being a part of the community as well as practicing small-animal medicine and surgery. They pride themselves on the care, concern, and personal relationships they have with their patients and their clients.
